Friend, ask me: “Do you care what people think about you, Chude?”
My answer will be this:
“On most days? No. Because I truly know that it doesn’t matter. What matters is that every day I do my very best to be my truest best self, and to do better as soon as I know better.
“But on some days, my evolutionary instincts towards caring what people think about me rears its head, and sometimes I even bow to it. But even at those times, I remind myself that my instincts are not reality, and I will hold steady until I can emerge from that need for external validation.
“No need for denying my own fallibility.
“As long as I have the right way always within my sights, even when I slip, I will always find my way back up.”
