Last month, a debate began on Twitter over the value of internships in Nigeria. Nigerian employers, particularly in the tech space called out some companies notorious for always hiring interns for full job roles, so they can skip paying salaries. Editi Effiong, CEO of Anakle, expanded on that conversation some days ago, and the discussion resumed afresh.
The CEOs all seem to be saying that all internship is good, regardless of what the experience was like. This is Abang Mercy, writer and journalist, with her story of how an unpaid internship made her who she is.
