“The U.S. has not declared war on North Korea” – White House

Sarah Sanders on Monday defended and shed more light to the most recent comments of President Trump.

• The North Korea rhetoric

The first issue Sanders commented on was the lingering North Korea crisis. She said the White House has “not declared war on North Korea,” as their foreign minister claimed this morning. “Frankly, the suggestion of that is absurd,” Sanders added.

• Weekend’s NFL imbroglios

On criticism of Trump’s NFL comments, the Press Secretary said, “This isn’t about the president being against anyone, but about millions of Americans being for something. If NFL players are protesting police brutality, then “they should protest the officers on the field, not the flag”.

“It’s always appropriate for the president to defend our flag, defend our national anthem,” referring to Trump’s call that some players should be fired.

• On Trump tweeting about the NFL and not Puerto Rico

She said, “He’s emphasising something that should be unifying… Celebrating and promoting patriotism in our country is something that should bring everyone together.”
