YNaija has gained some insight into the death of the father of Nigeria’s top rapper, Olamide.

According to information from the rapper’s camp, Olamide’s usually bubbly father has been reclusive for about a year, as a result of an illness he was grappling with.

Although the source wasn’t certain about the cause of death, we were made to understand Olamide’s father had a terminal ailment.

Two months ago, sometime around the festive Muslim holiday, the source said he appeared to have been recovering but then relapsed.

During the past year, Olamide’s father was said to have gone from being plump to frail looking and shrunken.

Olamide grew up with his father in Banjo street, Bariga, and when fame and wealth came calling, the YBNL CEO moved out, but not without doing good by his parents.
