John Caruso had a problem with the way his girlfriend swore like a sailor.

Problem is, his alleged solution — squirting dish soap in her mouth — may end up staining him with a domestic battery charge.

Stephanie Madewell, 21, called police on Tuesday in Hudson, Fla., after Caruso, her on-again, off-again boyfriend of five years, put the detergent in her mouth while she sat on the love seat in their home, WTSP-TV reported.

Besides leaving behind a soapy taste, Madewell reportedly suffered a small cut on her lip caused when Caruson allegedly shoved the soap bottle into her jaws. A deputy also reported there was “dried up dish soap on her right cheek/chin and down her neck into her bra and shirt,” according to documents obtained by the Smoking Gun.

Caruso, 26, didn’t soft soap the allegation. He told one officer that his parents used to wash his mouth out with soap, and added that he “will still put soap in his mouth now out of respect for his parents,” the New York Daily News reported.

The couple reportedly has two kids.
