Census delay continues as Tinubu rejects ₦942bn budget, proposes NYSC involvement

President Bola Tinubu has turned down the National Population Commission’s (NPC) proposed ₦942 billion budget for the upcoming national census.
According to sources, Tinubu stressed the need to cut costs and suggested that members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) be involved in the exercise to reduce expenses.
He also pledged to form a committee to review the budget, ensuring it aligns with the government’s financial capacity.
“I will set up a committee to carefully examine the budget, identify potential funding sources, and determine what adjustments can be made before moving forward,” Tinubu stated.
FG to Intervene in Senator Natasha’s Suspension

The Federal Government has promised to step in and address the leadership crisis in the National Assembly following the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central.
Minister of Women Affairs, Iman Suleiman-Ibrahim, assured reporters at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.
“We are engaging all stakeholders to encourage fairness and leniency,” she said during the Meet-the-Press Programme.
Osun Govt. reports Oyetola to EFCC, alleges misuse of $20m, ₦1.5bn

The Osun State Government has officially asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate former governor and current Minister of Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over claims of mismanaging a $20 million World Bank health grant.
The government also accuses Oyetola of money laundering, financial irregularities, and breaching the Public Procurement Act in the handling of funds intended for improving the state’s health sector.
Blackout hits as DisCos report system disturbance

A major system disturbance disrupted power supply across Nigeria on Friday, affecting several electricity distribution companies (DisCos).
In separate statements, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) and Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) confirmed that the outage occurred around 2 PM.
According to the Independent System Operator (ISO), power generation dropped significantly from 3,366.88 megawatts (MW) to 1,517.53 MW.
Ikeja Electric acknowledged the blackout, stating that it was working with key stakeholders to restore supply. Similarly, Kano DisCo informed customers that the disruption had halted electricity distribution across its coverage areas.
Davido set to drop ‘Be There Still’ on March 14 ahead of upcoming album

Singer Davido has announced that his new project, Be There Still, will be released on March 14.
Sharing the news on social media, he expressed excitement about the track, calling it “special” and adding, “Vibes that never fade. Be There Still coming March 14th.”
