NNPC reduces fuel prices to ₦860 and ₦880 per litre in Lagos and Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced that it has reduced the sale price of its petroleum for Lagos state and Abuja to ₦860 and ₦880 per litre.
The previous prices of fuel at the national fuel station was capped at ₦945/litre in Lagos and ₦965/litre in Abuja. Since the announcement of the reduction in petrol prices, both companies have now begun to sell fuel at the same price.
The latest price cut comes barely a week after Dangote Refinery announced a reduction in the price of the same petrol across the MRS stations and its affiliate filling stations.
Festus Keyamo considers securing funds for the renovation of Lagos airport

Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, has stated that the federal government is exploring options to secure funding for the renovation of Lagos airport.
Reports indicate that the minister mentioned President Bola Tinubu is not prioritising the concession of Murtala Muhammed International Airport but is instead focused on obtaining funds for its redevelopment.
However, in a post X, he clarified that while the government is indeed looking for financial resources for the airport’s rehabilitation, the possibility of a concession process is still on the table.
FEC approves licenses of 11 new private universities

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) through the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, stated that the universities have completed the processes established by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Alausa noted that although the Federal Executive Council has imposed a moratorium on new private universities, those that have received approval are well ahead in their registration process.
The Minister of Education revealed the names of the universities as New City University, Ayetoro, Ogun State, University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, Eranova University, Mabushi, Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun Annex, Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State and Southern Atlantic University, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The rest are Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State, Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State, Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos and Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State.
NYSC faults delayed funding on the reason for not paying ₦77,000

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has explained that the delay in disbursing the new minimum wage of ₦77,000 to corps members is due to insufficient “cash backing.”
NYSC spokesperson Caroline Embu shared this information in response to concerns raised by the National Association of Nigerian Students.
