After 6 hours of cross-examination, Saraki’s wife will return to EFCC today

On Tuesday, July 28, wife of  the Senate President, Toyin Saraki, honoured the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s office.

Saraki was invited alongside Zainab Dankingari, the wife of a former governor of Kebbi State and daughter of the late president, Umaru Yar’Adua.

EFCC purportedly invited Mrs Saraki to answer questions about contracts carried out in Kwara State when her husband, Senator Bukola Saraki, was Governor from 2003 to 2011.

Over 20 members of the House of Representatives and members of the Kwara State House of Assembly accompanied her to the EFCC Headquarters on Tuesday.

Some of the senators who were in her entourage include; Senators Isah Sani, Dino Melaye, Abdul Abubakar, Binta Goje, Abdulahi Sabi, and Peter Nwaoboshi.

Mrs. Saraki arrived at the EFCC office around 12pm and was taken into the Economic Governance Unit of the commission for interrogation which lasted 6 hours.

Saraki eventually left the commission’s headquarters after about six hours of grilling, around 6pm.

She is expected to return to the commission on Wednesday, July 29, to finish responding to questions of the EFCC.
