Buhari reportedly got a ‘list’ of Nigerian oil thieves from the US

The United States of America has reportedly given the names of Nigerian oil thieves to President Muhammadu Buhari.

This information was disclosed to Punch Newspapers, by a member of the President’s entourage to his recent trip to the United States.

The source was quoted to have said: “I can tell you that the President already has the list of names of the people engaging in the stealing of Nigeria’s oil. The list, when released by the President, will shock Nigerians. But let’s wait and see first.”

It was revealed that Buhari was shocked when he saw the names on the list and also that the list may serve as impetus for the President to probe the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Meanwhile, Punch also reports that a Presidency source similarly confirmed that Buhari received the said list, however adding that “the President has been keeping the list to himself.”

The second source was said to have disclosed that the US gave Buhari two separate lists, one containing the names of top government officials who have been stealing the country’s oil, while the other list contains the names of illegal oil bunkerers.

“The President will probe all of them and make sure they return whatever fortune they had made from their thievery,” the source was quoted to have said.

  1. that’s very good. The names should published like what was done to bank debtors who defaulted. then they should be prosecuted according to the law.
