Donald Trump to announce Iran nuclear deal decision on Friday

In defeating the suspense sparked by the indecisive stand on the Iran nuclear deal and to respond to anxious minds, President Trump is expected to announce his decision on the fate of the Iran nuclear deal in a speech on Friday, a Republican lawmakers privy of the information confirmed.

With regards to the development, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was seen on Capitol Hill on Wednesday evening briefing top Republican lawmakers on the administration’s impending announcement.

Rep. Mike McCaul, R-Texas, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told reporters of the planned Friday speech.

Similarly, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who just recovered from ugly media allegations, has also been briefing key lawmakers on the administration’s plans for the agreement, and equally met with Sen. Ben Cardin(D-Maryland), at the State Department on Wednesday.

And going by ABC News previous report, President Trump is expected to “decertify” the Iran nuclear deal which was forged by the Obama administration on the grounds that it no longer serves U.S. national security interests.

However, the decision not to certify the agreement would compel Congress within 60 days to re-impose sanctions against Iran that were suspended in 2015 as part of the agreement.

Meanwhile, Former Secretary of State John Kerry and Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, who helped forged and negotiate the agreement with Iran under President Obama, were at Capitol Hill on Wednesday to brief House Democrats on the nuclear deal and urge them to keep it in its current form.
