Trump laments tax break for NFL over players’ dishonour of flag

Not done with his attack on the NFL, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction for the tax break provision for the league.

The President’s anger is premised on the ongoing dispute between the White House and players’ of  the football league.

Trump challenged the defiance of players to stand in honour of the flag during the national anthem, despite government’s goodwill towards them.

Trump wrote through a tweet, “Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!”

The war between the presidency and the NFL which has shown no sign of ending began when some quarterbacks kneeled instead of standing during the national anthem in a game a fortnight ago – an act Trump dubbed as a disrespect for the military and the country.
