President Donald Trump in a series of tweets early Monday, railed against The New York Times calling it “inept”.
The failing @nytimes, which has made every wrong prediction about me including my big election win (apologized), is totally inept!

The tweet seems to be the president’s reaction to an article in the New York Times on Sunday, which reported that several Republicans were running a shadow campaign due to the chaotic state of the White House.
The Times article reported that Vice President Mike Pence was also gathering funds and support underground to run in the 2020 elections. Pence rejected the report, calling it “disgraceful and offensive”.

In a statement on Sunday, Pence said, “Today’s article in the New York Times is disgraceful and offensive to me, my family and our entire team, the allegations in this article are categorically false and represent just the latest attempt by the media to divide this Administration”.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway On ABC’s “This Week” said that there was “zero concern” about Pence running a shadow campaign.“That is complete fiction, that is a complete fabrication, she said.
Trump has since been referring to the newspaper as “[email protected]” in all tweets about the media outlet.
