‘There is no faction in MASSOB’ – Uwazuruike

Contrary to earlier indication that the leader of the Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike was expelled by a faction of the group, Uwazuruike has insisted that he remains the leader of MASSOB.

He also reiterated that Uchenna Madu and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are no longer part of MASSOB and have long been expelled from the movement for gross misconduct.

A faction of the Pro Biafra movement led by Uchenna Madu, had on Monday announced that Uwazuruike has been expelled from the movement over alleged fraud and misappropriation of the funds belonging to the group.

Reacting through Chris Moucha, the National Director of Information of his faction of MASSOB, Uwazuruike said MASSOB has nothing to do with the ongoing violent demonstrations by the supporters of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

He said Kanu and Madu were expelled members since September 30, 2009, and August 30, 2014, respectively for their violent related behaviors, and as such, they cannot speak on behalf of the organisation in any capacity.

“There is no faction in MASSOB I have remained silent on the matter because silence is the best answer to a fool,” he said.

Furthermore, Uwazuruike accused Uchenna Madu of masterminding the last crisis in MASSOB’s administrative headquarters, at Okwe, Onu-Imo L.G.A, of Imo State- which led to the death of four innocent members- over his ambition to decimate the organisation in order to emerge the new Igbo champion.
