Fabian Blu claims that he was introduced to drugs under Marlian Records

Nigerian singer Fabian Blu revealed all that he had bottled up since joining Naira Marley’s record label in an episode of WithChude. The singer claimed that he later realised that the infamous record label, ‘Marlian Records,’ was a haven for drug addivts as he was also introduced to drugs during the duration of his contract.

Fabian likened his stay in the record label to being imprisoned, as he was faced with several allegations of tribalism, substance abuse, and exploitation. The artist only released five songs under the record label and he blamed the management for holding back his creativity and talent.

I got introduced to drugs in Marlian Music. I got signed to the record label. I have never liked the whole Marlian music kind of lifestyle. They were too gangster,” he said.

“I have met a lot of Yoruba people as friends. But getting to that Marlian music, I met a different set of Yoruba people. There was tribalism in the record. It was chaotic and dysfunctional.

“I was not given the free will to express my creativity. All of my songs in Marlian Music were a result of they wanted it to sound that way. They have not given me my share of royalties ever since I have been with them.

John Amaefule hospitalised, seeks financial help from Nigerians

Nollywood film star, John Amaefule was hospitalised this past weekend as he suffers from stroke. The actor has since appealed to Nigerians that he is unable to solely pay for his hospital bills as he asks for financial assistance.

The announcement was made on Instragram by Stanley Ontop who shared images of the old actor undergoing treatment.

Nollywood veteran actor John Amaefule was rushed to the hospital this morning in Owerri after encountering with stroke,” the Instagram post reads.

“He’s suffering from stroke, the family is asking Nigerians to pls help. He is currently in FCM Owerri and they need money to save this man.”

Ayra Starr teases possible collaboration between Tems and Tyla

Nigerian pop singer, Ayra Starr has hinted at a possible collaboration with Tems and Tyla. The three women were spotted in Nigeria together during the 2024 #DettyDecember which saw them performing and enjoying the Christmas holiday in Lagos State.

Though Ayra Starr was once featured in Tyla’s single “Girl Next Door” and Tems was also featured in Tyla’s album, she said in a red carpet interview at the MOBO awards that the two ladies are her girls.

“Of course, those are my girls. Of course,” she said.

Asake’s ex-manager claims greed and laziness cost the singer a $4m deal

Tunde Babalola, who previously worked as Asake’s strategist, stated that the singer rejected multiple lucrative performance offers in 2024, reportedly because he was unwilling to share his earnings with his team.

The music promoter pointed out several offers that Asake declined, including a nationwide show featuring international stars, which was valued at nearly $1 million per show. Tunde accused Asake of having a lackadaisical approach, asserting he only performed 11 shows throughout 2024. He claimed that Asake’s work ethic resulted in missed opportunities amounting to over $4 million last year.
