A few hours ago, Steve Onu, popularly known as Yaw came on  Twitter and tweeted: “Death wetin happen ooooo, MC Loph…RIP.” The On-air-personality who anchors the morning belt on soar away station, Wazobia FM, drew a lot of reactions from people who follow him. Some of them actually thought he was fooling around, as he is widely known for comedy. But Yaw, who tweets with the handle @yawazobiafm was adamant.

In a reply to several tweets, Yaw told @joeslim122, “dis morning”, possibly citing when the late rapper died. In another reply to @Ebukaadaba, he tweeted, “accident”. YNaija called Yaw to get more details, but despite the fact he sounded so sure on the social networking, he told us he was still trying to confirm the story.

Update.

Andy Bello, chief executive officer of LockDown Entertainment – organizers of the annual South-South Music Awards, has confirmed the death of the the rapper. In a telephone conversation with YNaija, Bello revealed that the rapper was involved in an accident.

“He was planning a secret wedding for this coming weekend and was heading to his inlaw’s house when it happened,” Bello said.
