No sane person would pray for a repeat of the 30-month Biafra war – IPOB elders

The Supreme Council of Elders of the Indigenous People of Biafra has denied any affiliation with the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Dozie Ikedife who spoke to pressmen in Nnewi, Anambra State on Wednesday, anyone who was old enough during the Nigerian Civil war would not be beating the drums of war like the NDA and MASSOB are doing.

“Preachers of violence might be infants or non-existent during the 30 months Nigerian civil war.”

Ikedife revealed this while reacting to claims by some of the leaders of the IPOB and MASSOB that an alliance would be formed with the NDA and other Niger Delta militants.

Ikedife outrightly rejected the alliance, adding that he saw the Biafra war from beginning to the end and witnessed how millions of people, especially from the South East were killed and property worth billions of pounds destroyed over the struggle for self determination.

He said he would not support any war because even though destroyed properties can be replaced, lives that would be lost during such wars cannot be replaced.

Ikedife further said that no right thinking person would pray for a repeat of the 30-month war that brought about pain and sorrow on several families in the land.
