Buhari does not have a northern agenda – Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari has denied growing insinuations that he is implementing a northern agenda, owing to his appointments thus far.

Since his inauguration of May 29, Buhari has made about 10 appointments and all of them have been from the North, except one from the South West.

Hence, he has been subjected to criticisms by some Nigerians, who accused him of having a northern agenda.

In reaction to his critics, Buhari responded on Sunday, July 5, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina.

He said: “The president received a national mandate and was going to pursue it as such. The president does not have a northern agenda. He has a national agenda. He got a national mandate and that is the way he is going to exercise that mandate. I have already said it and I still maintain that”.
