[The Activism Blog] Civic Hive, BudgIT’s sexy new project will now be launched 29 July

So, obviously you already know that BudgIT is Nigeria’s sexiest civil society organisation. Let’s not even argue about that. Local and global audiences agree.

So it’s not a surprise it’s launching a variety of sexy new projects everywhere you turn – including the #ReportYourself bribery reporting service in conjunction with the United States Embassy, and now the Civic Hive, which is funded by the Omidyar Network. That’s in addition to its fellowship for journalists launched in the first quarter of the year.

The Civic Hive is “our innovation space to intersect citizen engagement and institutional feedback in different thematic areas. Civic Hive ties into BudgIT’s five-year plan to expand its impact through the rise of civic tech organisations and initiatives in Nigeria.”

It will be an ideation and innovation space for those who want to drive civic action like BudgIT. So basically, CC Hub for CSOs – and one for both technology projects and non-tech projects.

The Centre will be on the second floor of the BudgIT office in Yaba, and the launch – first fixed for the 22nd – will now hold on the 29th.
