Back with a bang: Thandie Newton made an effortlessly elegant return to the red carpet as she showed off her incredible post-baby body at the premiere of Half Of A Yellow Sun at Odeon Streatham in South London on Tuesday night alongside co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor

Thandie Newton is effortlessly flawless!

The Hollywood actress weeks ago welcomed her third child but it seemed like a long time as she attended the premiere of Half Of A Yellow Sun at Odeon Streatham in South London on Tuesday night looking like she never carried the pregnancy.

Looking chic and rocking her post baby body,  the 41-year-old turned heads at the red carpet as she joined her co-star, Oscar nominee, Chiwetel Ejiofor to take some photos.

Daily Mail reports:

Despite being cut in somewhat unforgiving satin, the talented thespian’s classic ensemble proved a wise sartorial choice, showing off her slim waist and showstopping post-pregnancy curves in all their glory.

Thandie teamed her elegant LBD with a pair of fierce gold spiked stiletto heels, which complemented the dramatic splash of metallic on her pencil dress.

The actress completed her red carpet look with a small navy blue satin clutch bag, while opting for minimal make-up and wearing her raven locks blow-dried into a voluminous style.

Ensuring he didn’t let his leading lady down at the premiere, Chiwetel looked rather dapper for the occasion in an immaculately tailored black two-piece suit, which he teamed with a crisp white shirt and an aubergine-coloured silk tie.

The co-stars looked positively delighted to be back in each others’ company, greeting one another with a warm embrace as they arrived at the South London cinema for their big night.

Based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Half Of A Yellow Sun is a love story that follows the lives of two sisters living in Nigeria in the mid-sixties, who are caught up in the outbreak of the civil war.

Thandie and her writer-director husband Ol Parker – who she married back in 1998 – welcomed baby son Booker Jombe into the world just over a month ago on March 3.

The latest addition to the couple’s brood joins daughters Ripley, 13, and Nico, nine.

The Crash actress announced her pregnancy in September and later admitted she was finding it tough working on action-packed police drama Rogue, in which she plays undercover cop Grace Travis.

She said: ‘Basically, I had two options; to withdraw from the show which would have meant the show collapsing, or to commit regardless.

‘I’d seem actresses takes on meaty un-pregnant roles while carrying babies – Jodie Foster in Panic Room.

‘My agent also reassured me that both Claire Danes and Anna Paquin worked well into their first pregnancies. So – it was all going to work out just fine wasn’t it?

‘We’re on episode nine, and are near enough to finishing for me to be able to chuckle at my naivety in thinking this was going to be anything other than mayhem, with a waddling lead actress at the centre.’

After debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2013, Half Of A Yellow Sun hits UK cinemas on April 11, and will be released in Nigeria on April 12.
