[The Alausa Blog]: Drone deployment, instant employment and infrastructure construction at LASPOTECH Convocation ceremony

The 25th Convocation ceremony of the Lagos State Polytechnic held Thursday and Lagos state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode was on ground to charge the graduating students while also performing other functions.

The students and staff of the polytechnic had worked on a drone project and today, the governor promised that the drone would be deployed to carry out aerial security surveillance across the state, adding that the state would further promote the drone project to encourage more of such.

The governor also approved the construction of new infrastructure on the institution’s campus site. A new Main Auditorium, Administrative Block, renovation of the Sports Complex and general facelift to the facilities within the campus environment including equipping and furnishing of the newly built School of Technology Building (Block A) are the projects in the works.

Governor Ambode approved the allocation of N750million for the proposed accreditation exercise set to take place in LASPOTECH.

Finally, the overall best graduating student out of a total of 9,228 students was offered instant employment by the the governor
