Why Amaechi may not be screened today

Amaechi may not be screened today | YNaija, com

There’s a high possibility that former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, will not be screened today at the Senate.

Amaechi, whose ministerial screening has been twice postponed, may not get his chance at the Senate when plenary resumes on Tuesday morning.

The former governor was listed as the 15th nominee for the screening process, and based on precedence, the Senators are yet to attend to more than 9 nominees in a day.

Thus far, 18 nominees have been screened in the space of two plenary sittings.

Similarly, Chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee, Senator Anyanwu has said that his panel was yet to submit the report of petitions against Amaechi, and will only do so when plenary resumes today.

“We have heard Amaechi’s petition and all these reports will be ready tomorrow. Except there are further petitions, the reports on all the petitions so far received, will be submitted tomorrow. For now, what we have is that of Aisha Abubakar and that of Rotimi Amaechi, which will be submitted to the Senate tomorrow (today).

Our reports on petitions against  Amaechi and Aisha Abubakar are ready and will be laid before the senate tomorrow( today), to pave way for their screening.”
