8 Boko Haram insurgents quit sect, say ‘they are tired of waging Jihad’

8 insurgents of Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, have denounced their membership, in the town of Mussa in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Chairman of the Youth Vigilance Group in the town, Apagu Istifanus, disclosed to Punch Newspapers, on Friday, that the defectors said they were tired of killing innocent persons.

Istifanus revealed that the 8 insurgents were arrested in Mussa, where they reportedly dumped the sect after interrogations.

The vigilante leader said that six out of the 8 arrested insurgents were from Gwoza town‎ in Borno State.

He said, “Yes, we arrested eight Boko Haram members in Mussa around 4pm on Thursday and while we were interrogating them, they said they were tired of waging Jihad again.  We handed them over to the military in Mubi, Adamawa state.”
