The Presidency on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari will never ask anyone to bribe judges.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in a statement while reacting to claims by two judges, Justice Okoro Inynag and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta who both alleged that Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi tried to bribe them to pervert.
Both judges in their separate letters to the National Judicial Council said Amaechi had approached suggesting that ‘oga’ sent him but they declined leading to their arrest.
But Shehu in the statement said the President would never do such a thing.
“President Muhammadu Buhari would be the last person to authorise anybody to induce a judge to pervert the course of justice,” he said.
Shehu said President Muhammadu Buhari has never used his influence on any judge or lawyer.
