Chad fights back, carries out airstrikes on Boko Haram

Chad is not going to sit down and let insurgency take over their country.

The military said it had carried out airstrikes on Boko Haram positions in neighboring Nigeria to avenge the twin suicide bombings in Chad’s capital that were blamed on the Boko Haram.

Vanguard reports that while referring to the acts perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists, which killed 33 people in N’Djamena on Monday, the military said that it had carried out reprisal airstrikes on the terrorists’ positions in Nigerian territory on Wednesday.

“Six Boko Haram bases were destroyed in the air raids.

“Chad would continue its merciless pursuit of the insurgents so that no drop of Chadian blood spilt goes unpunished,” the statement said.

On the attacks, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but Chad and its allies immediately blamed the Nigeria-based insurgents, who have carried out several attacks recently in countries that share a border with northeast Nigeria.
