Nigerian R & B singers Chidinma and Praiz are set to feature on the weekly BET Spotlight season finale this week. The show will focus on their music career and forthcoming projects. Chidinma and Praiz were seen as the perfect choice for the ‘Rated Next’ series, as they represent the future of Nigerian music. They both kick-started their music career after participating in the popular Project Fame competition. One a winner and the other a second runner-up, Chidinma and Praiz have shown that there is more to them than just being ex-Project Fame contestants. Chidinma has released two hit singles while Praiz is winning the hearts of many with his harmonious voice. More is to be expected from them as they prepare to release their debut albums later this year.

Speaking about the aim of the series, Lilian Blanson, producer, stated that she wanted to create the series to showcase the amazing talents in Nigeria. “It made sense to meet and chat with some of the artists I thought were doing great things in the industry. It was never planned to be a show, just drops initially. When I got back and reviewed the footage, I strongly felt I had enough content to create an up close and personal series,” she said. So far, 26 Nigerian artists have been featured on BET Spotlight, including M.I, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Ice Prince.
