‘Stop leaking information’ | Chief of Staff warns Aso Rock workers

Workers at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, have been warned to stop leaking information contained in official documents and files or face stiff sanctions.

The warning was sounded by the Chief of Staff to the Presidency, Abba Kyari.

Kyari made this known on Monday at the send off ceremony of some officials who were redeployed from his office or retired recently.

He further threatened dire consequences on any official who leaked information out of the of the office.

“One thing we cannot tolerate is letters and information going out of this office.  I have seen one with my signature shown to me.

“I do not know who was responsible for that; I do not know why anyone should do that; but please make sure that such a thing does not happen.

“Anything that is written will come out anyway; it is not a secret; but the bad thing is for it to come out before it is publicly made by the relevant authorities.

“So, please do not fall into this trap of somebody asking you to bring a letter, because if by accident you are found or the letter traced to you, clearly it would not be something that we would tolerate.”

The Chief of Staff also warned the Villa officials against engaging in small talks and gossiping during working hours. He said that such would not be tolerated.
