Yinuza Saheed, a 41-year-old man, on earlier today pleaded with an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his 5-year marriage with wife, Bashirat for always barking at him.
Saheed, whose marriage to his wife has produced 2 children – Wasiu and Ganiu, said she raises her voice at him even in public places and in the presence of his friends.
His wife, however, objected to the divorce on the ground that she was still interested in the marriage.
Leadership reports:
A 41-year-old man, Yinuza Saheed, on Wednesday prayed an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his five-year-old marriage with his wife, Bashirat because she loved barking at him every time.
Yinuza, who lives at Stadium Road, Ilorin said: “My wife always raises voice on me even in the public places whenever I try to correct her wrongful act.’’
He cited an instance Oct.15, when said that the defendant shouted at him in the presence of his friends.
He said that the marriage which the two parties contracted in 2008 had produced two children – Wasiu and Ganiyu.
“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot cope with a woman that barks at me every time,’’ he said.
The defendant, however, objected to the divorce on the ground that she was still interested in the marriage.
“My husband always takes me for granted and that was the reason I always raise my voice and bark at him,’’ she said.
Bashirat promised to maintain calmness with her husband and begged the court for an adjournment to make a reconciliatory move.
The presiding Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to Dec.18 for possible and amicable settlement between the parties or continuation of hearing.
