Morgan Freeman apologises following sexual allegations against him
Morgan Freeman has apologised following allegations of sexual misconduct made by eight women and several other people.
Freeman apologised to “anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected”.
“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy,” he said in a statement.
Making women feel uncomfortable was “never my intent”, he said.

Harvey Weinstein to be arrested in New York today
Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to authorities on Friday in connection with a sexual assault case.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is expected to charge Weinstein with at least one case. The New York Times and the New York Daily News reported the case would involve allegations that he forced Lucia Evans to perform oral sex during an audition in 2004.
Netflix more valuable than Disney at the moment
Netflix is the world’s most valuable media company, for now, after its stock went up again Thursday to record highs — pushing the video-streaming’s market capitalisation past Disney.
Shares of Netflix closed up 1.3% for the day, to $349.29 per share. That gives the company a market cap of about $161 billion. Year to date, Netflix shares now have increased 82% in value as of May 24.
Disney’s stock fell 0.7% in trading Thursday, to close at $102.11 per share, yielding a market cap of $152 billion.
