The governorship and State House of Assembly elections of Saturday, April 11, was characterised with voter apathy and widespread violence.
Several persons were attacked and killed in not less than 7 states across the federation.
As at last count, not less than 16 deaths have been recorded in the violence that took place around the country.
In Benue, five persons were reportedly killed, while four lives were lost in Kebbi; two lives each in Rivers and Lagos; and in Plateau, Bauchi and Ebonyi, one life was lost.
Many governorship and State House of Assembly candidates followed the example of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan by signing peace accords with their opponents – too bad their supporters appear not to have gotten the no-violence memo.
