From politics to social issues, Nigeria Twitter has become the hub for people to air their opinions on issues that matter. The current ‘Giadom’ trend is one that has gotten the attention of many Nigerians that are politically conscious.
The trend came off after President Muhammadu Buhari announced he was recognising embattled Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom as the Acting National Chairman of the party in line with a court order. Spokesman to the President, Garba Shehu noted that the decision of President Buhari is on the strength of very convincing advice he received on the position of the law, adding that he will attend a virtual National Executive Council (NEC) meeting convened by Giadom for Thursday.
The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.

All for the good of our great party the APC! @OfficialAPCNg https://t.co/5oeLDcLzDX

The announcement by the Presidency came as a surprise to many Twitter users and in sharing their views on the issue, they interpreted it as a victory of a power bloc in the party over another with grave implications for the race to the Presidency in 2023.
I love the way Fayemi accompanied Giadom to villa and the mission aborted . Now, we have a clear understanding of backers of Giadom. We have also confirmed the ring leader of those who sent Kebbi, Jigawa and Plateau Govs to see Buhari. So unfortunate that he will pass this route

The voice of Giadom, the hand of …..
Popcorn loading.

It appears the favourites are behind in APC’s early battles for 2023 as the president shows the subtlest of signs of where his bias appears to reside.

First Oshiomole is kicked out by the Court of Appeal. Then his preferred replacement, Ajimobi, falls into a coma. Then his arch rival, Giadom, is recognised by Buhari as Nat. Chairman.
Conclusion: it is over for Tinubu. He has been thrown under the bus & retired from politics!

Another flank opened in the internal @OfficialAPCNg crisis. https://t.co/2XZQ3AnCJ8

Victor Giadom my man
RIP to Tinubu presidential ambition
Oshiomhole will regret ever disqualifying Obaseki ? ? ?

While some have described the development as the fulfillment of a ‘prophecy’ on the downfall of the suspended APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, a number of persons stressed that the President’s decision to follow the court order is an exemplary step expected of a true leader.
With Giadom's endorsement by President Buhari, the Dr. Bukola Saraki's statement that "Oshiomhole’s masquerade will dance naked in the market" has come to play. pic.twitter.com/PKwmRCAJzb

Another blow to Oshiomhole and his backers as Buhari recognises Giadom as APC acting national chairman https://t.co/wuo6wDPDjq

Others however, see the issue as a huge joke, as well as the beginning of woes for the party in the Edo Governorship election and subsequent dominance of the country’s political affairs.
Now that Buhari has recognised Giadom as APC acting chairman, Is it safe to say APC has not conducted primaries in Edo state?#Partyscatter pic.twitter.com/0fkc8pHY57

It is wa oooo. ? The same Giadom that was said to be thrown outside Aso Rock by Nation Newspaper yesterday. I even saw a tweet from mummy that says the NEC meeting of Giadom will hold tomorrow . I hope they settle the matter and end this internal wranglings.

Victor Giadom attempting to summon APC NEC meeting without approval from NWC must be the biggest political joke all year long. Even if, by a stroke of miracle, he's National Chairman, he can't unilaterally call NEC meeting. He's not even in the line of succession to the Chairman.

What kind of party is @OfficialAPCNg? There are in a complete mess. If they can’t deal with simple party issues, is it any surprise the situation NIGERIA is in? ??♂️??♂️ https://t.co/k7ckGNz2SC

But a Court ordered Giadom to stop parading himself as the Acting Chairman cos he resigned to contest an election.
Let's not deceive ourselves, APC is in disarray.

Is the APC about to experience an implosion or this is actually a way forward?
