Highlights of the Lagos Small Business Summit 2018

Lagos Small Business Summit organized by SME100 Nigeria is a platform that brings together government leaders and small business owners; who are innovative game changers in their various sectors. The objective of the summit is to discuss the impact that innovation and data have on all sectors of the economy and the role each play in being a catalyst for social good.

The Summit started with a welcome address, which was given by Dr. Mrs. Yetunde Ayandele on behalf of the Deputy Governor of Lagos Dr. Mrs. Idiat Oluranti Adebule.

 

The E.D of FCMB Mrs. Bukola Smith gave the Keynote Address on behalf of Mr. Adam Nuru. 

After the Keynote Address was given, we had the Women in Business Panel which included Rashidat Adebisi (Divisional Director of Retail Solutions with AXA Mansard Insurance plc.), Ayo Olulana (Head of Emerging Business-Diamond Bank), Feyi Olunuga (Managing Director of Lunuga Limited) and the panel was moderated by Blondie Okpuzor ( CEO of BathKandy)

 

The panel spoke on a topic titled: “What Female Business Owners can do to scale their business from a micro stage?” Telling women as female business owners how they have to be deliberate and make bold moves.

Before the Creative Panel, we had Ex-Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi give us a brief speech on the role of small businesses in Nigeria.

 

We also had the Creative Panel which included Seyi Tinubu (CEO of Loatsad Promomedia), Dare Aliu (Operations Manager of Honeywell Group’s Power Company), Ife Durosinmi-Etti (Co-Founder Parliamo Bambini) and the panel was moderated by Mimi Onalaja ( TV Host, Actress and Writer).

The panel discussed on how entrepreneurs need to branch out and make a difference in the society by creating trends and breaking the norm.

After the Creative Panel we had the Pitch Competition that had 16 contestants who pitched their ideas to investors for the prize money, after the Pitch session one of the competitors came out tops as the winner of the #1million naira cash prize.

 

 

We had various businesses come and take stands to showcase their various products to the participants of the event.
