A desperate housewife has been beaten up after she allegedly stole a Nokia phone in Asaba, Delta.
The housewife, identified as Mama Chiwe, was in negotiation to buy the phone for
N5000, but while seller moved out to answer calls, she quickly removed the phone and put in her bag.
As she committed the theft, the mother of two was sighted by another trader who raised an alarm, which prompted other traders to throng the scene.
She was thoroughly beaten up by the irate traders, before the police was invited to the scene.
Eye witness said the woman was later taken to the A’ Division Police station in Asaba and, upon interrogation, confessed to stealing the GSM.
Police officers at the A’ Division confirmed the story, saying that the GSM phone was found in her bag.
