25 year old Chdinma Leilani Aaron emerged victorious at the 42nd coronation ceremony of Miss Nigeria. She edged 17 other finalists to be crowned Miss Nigeria 2018 in a keenly contested battle as all the finalists displayed great features and finesse. The judges, in a unanimous decision declared Chidinma who represented the South Eastern zone of Nigeria.
At the coronation event, the top 12 finalists were announced from the votes cast by viewers before they were shortlisted further by the judges to a final 5. Dunu Chisom, Ntah Nton, Ameh Munirah, Agida Stephanie and Chidinma Aaron made it into the top 5. The contestants answered questions from the audience as well as the judges excellently. The judges met and they unanimously declared Chidinma Leilani Aaron Miss Nigeria 2018 with Dunu Chisom and Ameh Munirah following as 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
The event, which had the Chairman of Folio Media Group (owners of Miss Nigeria), Fidelis Anosike and Miss Nigeria 1979, Helen Prest-Ajayi give the opening address and restated the organisations commitment to empowering women beyond beauty and improving the lives of people.
The judges of the electric evening of beauty, glitz, glamour and intellect were Rita Dominic, Olisa Adibua, Jasmine Tukur, David Wej, Tatiana Mousali, Grace Uredi, Fade Ogunro, Leesi Vigboro-Peters, Konye Nwabogor and Osepiribon Ben-Willie. These judges are masters of the art in their various disciplines and had the finalists drilled in a way to get the eventual winner.
The hosts of the day were Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Kaylah Oniwo while Tobi Bakre hosted the red carpet and also engaged the parents of the contestants and guests. The coronation event was aired live on WazobiaMax TV.
The audience and viewers were treated to an amazing evening show by Dede Mabiaku and her team who sang sonorously to the ears of guests and viewers. Fast rising alternative singer, Johnny Drille also treated the guests to great music as he performed live at the event. Bovi was the comedian of the day as the guests laughed at his comic display. The contestants alongside spoken words expert, Efe Paul Azino also treated the guests to an amazing spoken words display.
The event had in attendance the crème de crème of the society among who were Top Bank Executives, Business Moguls, celebrities and influencers, sponsors and mentors of Miss Nigeria 2018 among others.
As soon as Chidinma Leilani Aaron was announced 42nd Miss Nigeria, the ambience of the Eko Convention Centre came to more life as guests rose to their feet in applause the winner amid shouts for joy from her family and fans. The guests nodded in agreement with the judges’ decision as it was a well-deserved victory.
The winner went home with 3 Million Naira from Heritage Bank, a luxury apartment for a year and a brand new car.
The organisers were praised by guests and viewers for their commitment from inception to producing queens and finalists of high intellectual capabilities as they look forward to a year of positive achievements and great contributions from Miss Nigeria 2018.
