‘If we’d lost at the Supreme Court, many people would have been arrested’ – WIke

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday, stated that he won’t stop in his praise of God- specifically for saving him from the hands of political enemies who had planned to use federal power to destroy him and his political associates.

Wike said this while speaking at an event organized by his wife, Suzzette Nyesom-Wike.

The event was a couples night and special raffle draw for public officials and their spouses at the Rivers state government house.

He was quoted to have said that: “If we had lost at the Supreme Court, many persons would have been arrested. It’s like somebody whose grave has been dug and he is being lowered to the grave before God intervened.”

The governor further stated that he will keep showing gratitude to God in whatever forms because the future of Rivers state is reassured.

Wike also said that the Valentine’s Day Couples Night was an opportunity for government officials to unwind and be reinvigorated to serve the state better. Saying that his administration will keep delivery the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers state.

The Supreme Court recently affirmed Wike’s election as the governor of Rivers state after both the Court of Appeal and State Election Petition tribunal had annulled his election.
