IGP helps apprehend cultists in Edo State

According to reports, police have been working to keep the society safe unlike what it used to be in the past.

Recent hurdle conquered by the police is the capturing of 11 cult members from different parts of Edo state.

The state have always been known to be the base for cult members as it has one more than three higher institutions in the state causing troublesome cultism related violent crimes in the state.

In a statement released by the police public relations officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu on Thursday, he said the intervention of the IGP Solomon Arase has started yielding positive results.

He stated that the Special Crack Squad designated for the assignment, has on May 12 had some success and arrested highly placed persons from different locations of the state who are ring leaders of cult groups linked to recent cult related killings in the state.

“At the moment, a total of fifty-six (56) suspected vicious cultists linked to the recent cult related violence in the state have been rounded up by the Squad and are undergoing interrogation. The IGP reiterated that no criminal will be spared, no matter how highly placed,” he said.
