Less than 24 hours after a bomb explosion killed at least five people at Saint Charles Catholic Church, Kano State, another explosion has occurred in the state.

According to reports, the blast happened at NNPC Mega station at Hotoro area of Kano state, with many feared dead.

The Nigerian Police, who confirmed the Monday explosion via its twitter page, said it was
detonated by a suicide bomber. It advised residents to stay clear of the scene.

The number of casualties could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.

The Police had yesterday managed to avert an explosion at Isiayaku Rabiu Mosque, having recovered explosives hidden in a Peugeot vehicle which was parked near the mosque.
