Jonathan, security chiefs hold private meeting in Abuja to discuss…

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday met behind closed doors with security chiefs and relevant ministers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

During the meeting, they were said to have assessed the ongoing anti-terrorism war in the North Eastern part of the country as well as preparations for the May 29 handover.

Vice President Namadi Sambo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim; National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki; Attorney-General of the Federation, Muhammed Adoke; Minister of Defence, Aliyu Gusau; Minister of Interior, Abba Moro; and the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan also attended the meeting that lasted over three hours.

The security chiefs in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu; and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba.

None of them spoke with journalists at the end of the parley.
