We cannot overemphasize how pleasantly petty Senator Shehu Sani can be.
This time, he went for popular neurosurgeon and , Dr Ben Carson who recently referred to slaves brought to the United States as “immigrants”. Dr Carson said, “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less…” . The comment caught heavy flak among African Americans.
But Senator Shehu Sani is not here to blame anyone for their opinion. He only quoted Dr Carson’s “logic” in his tweet and the sarcasm is apt.

Anyway, the Senator visited the Badagry slave port as part of his advocacy for the inclusion of the history of slave trade in Nigerian schools’ curriculum. His Historic Sites Preservation and Protection Bill has passed the first reading at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
