The 30-year-old migrant worker surnamed Zeng bought a 17-year-old abducted Vietnamese girl from his friend Luo for 40,000 yuan (USD6,438), Sina News reported.
He married her in April, 2012, but as it turned out – it wasn’t a match made in heaven. Zeng found his new wife absolutely intolerable. According to him, the girl was annoying, way too demanding and emotionally needy.
Since letting her go would have meant losing money, Zeng sold her to the brother-in-law of his cousin. He even managed to make a profit since he got 50,000 yuan for her.
Zeng left his wife in his cousin’s home, not telling her about the deal he had struck.
After finally finding out she had been sold to another man, the girl caused a scene. Her new “husband” ended up calling the police.
Zeng was arrested and charged with human trafficking.
