Larry Maples, 44, is accused of shooting dead his wife and her seriously wounding her lover when he busted in on the pair having sex, police have said.

A scorned Texas man shot dead his wife and seriously injured her lover when he busted the pair in bed having sex, police have said.

Ben Wheeler resident Larry Maples, 44, is accused of flying into a rage after spotting his wife’s car parked outside his love rival’s home in Canton, 60 miles east of Dallas.

Cops say he burst into the bedroom at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning and fired a Colt .45 pistol at his 34-year-old partner, Heather Maples.

He also shot Moses Clemente, 47, in the abdomen, before calling police to say what he had done.

His wife was pronounced dead at the scene, with Clemente being taken in critical condition to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.

Sources say mother-of-four Heather and Clemente had been involved in a relationship before she married her husband in November 2012.

Heather’s family told KLTV.com that, however, the Maples had split up and she was staying with Clemente.

Maples has been charged with capital murder and is being held at the Van Zandt County jail.
