The Media Blog: The first episode of King Women with Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett is immense

Immense simply in terms of how much weight is packed behind every single word Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett, the subject of the first episode, utters. Kemi Adetiba’s interview series couldn’t have picked a better person to kick off its run – and we suspect everyone involved knows this too, as Ajayi-Lycett has all but become the unofficial face of the project.

Besides a slightly clunky intro, it serves mostly as a showcase for how spectacular a human being the thespian is. The awe-inspiring nature of her life story is peppered with her trademark mix of theatricality, mix and pathos. See if you have dry eyes at the end of the episode.

By the way, this might be the first thing we’ve seen from Accelerate TV that we can unequivocally say we’re excited about. Nice.
