Buhari says Boko Haram insurgents do not believe in God

President Muhammadu Buhari, says the actions of Boko Haram, proves that they don’t know God nor do they believe in Him.

Buhari said this on Monday, June 8, while seeking support and cooperation from France in his efforts to defeat the Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

At a meeting with President Francois Hollande of France after his participation in Monday’s G-7 Outreach Programme in Elmau, Germany, the President said he would appreciate more intelligence on the sect’s link with the Islamic States of Iraq and Syria.

According to a statement released by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President requested for increased intelligence on the sect’s movements, training and sources of its arms and ammunition.

During the talks, Buhari also said there was no link whatsoever, between religion and the atrocities of Boko Haram.

“There is clearly no religious basis for the actions of the group. Their atrocities show that members of the group either do not know God at all or they don’t believe in him,” Buhari was quoted to have said.
