PFN to El-Rufai: ‘Prepare to jail 5,000 pastors in Kaduna’

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has informed Governor Nasir El-Rufai to prepare to imprison 5,000 pastors if the Religious Bill currently before the state House of Assembly is passed into law.

The PFN said on Tuesday, that the pastors in its fold would rather obey God than obey the proposed preaching bill that seeks to regulate religious activities in Kaduna state.

Kaduna PFN chairman, Prof. Femi Ehinmidu, criticised the bill being sponsored by the state government at a stakeholders’ roundtable conference in Kaduna.

Ehinmidu said the bill would ultimately lead to crisis in the state if the government and the state assembly go ahead to pass it into law.

He further stated that the bill was bound to fail, unless the government embarks on wider consultations among critical stakeholders.
