Nigerian man being treated for Ebola in Benin Republic

A Nigerian is currently being treated for the Ebola Virus disease in the Republic of Benin.

Benin Republic Health Minister, Dorotheé Gazard, disclosed this yesterday, 7 August, that a hospital in the country is treating a Nigerian man who they fear has contracted Ebola disease.

The unidentified man has been reportedly quarantined and a sample of his blood has been sent to Senegal for testing and verification.

Benin republic now awaits the result of the test, which if positive, would make the West African nation the fifth country the virus would be spreading to within the sub-region.
