No ballots hijacked as Labour Congress elect new President

by Panshak Ibrahim

Delegates of the Labour Congress have behaved themselves and elected a new leader.

Ayba Wabba, a former President, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, has been elected President of Nigeria Labour Congress.

Wabba was elected at the NLC delegates conference in Abuja.

The NLC election, which was rescheduled was held on Saturday, March 14, at the Eagle Square.

The initial election on Thursday, February 25, at the International Conference Centre, was disrupted as aggrieved parties hijack, and smash ballot boxes being used to elect incoming leaders of the organisation.
