Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has reportedly dropped the suit filed against President Goodluck Jonathan, the Inspector General of Police and all the defendants which challenged his suspension from office as CBN Governor on February 20, 2014.

Sanusi, who is presently the Emir of Kano, issued the Notice of Discontinuance today, July 1, 2014.

The former CBN Governor had in a suit filed against the Defendants at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja challenged his suspension as the CBN governor, however, the defendants asked the Court to decline jurisdiction on the suit since the suit as constituted is labour related and as such, the National Industrial Court is the appropriate Court to hear the suit.

The court in its ruling declined jurisdiction and directed that the case be taken to the Industrial Court, a decision which was being challenged by both the plaintiff and the defendants.

With Sanusi’s decision today we can safely assume that all the legal battles are over.
