We did not receive any property from Maina – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed an allegation that its chairman, Ibrahim Magu gave out properties recovered from pension fraud suspects.

According to the agency, Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose made the allegation.

In a series of tweets, the EFCC said it did not receive any property from wanted former chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Committee, Abdulrasheed Maina.

EFCC said, “The EFCC takes exception to attempt by @GovAyoFayose to impugn the integrity of its Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, over management of assets recovered from pension fraud suspects.

“Let it be stated again that Magu and the EFCC did not give out any property, being suspected proceeds of crime, to anybody, and never received any property from Abdulrasheed Maina, and so could not be compensating people with what does not exist.”
