The Presidency Monday confirmed reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has declared his intention to contest for a second term in office.

The presidency made the confirmation via a tweet, “President @MBuhari has just announced his intention to seek the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contest for a second term of Office in the 2019 elections.”

Earlier today, Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai and Bashir Ahmaad, Buhari’ special assistant on New Media tweeted the president’s intention to seek re-election.
