[The Presidential Blog] Professor Osinbajo’s #WorkersDay message is too sweet so we added a few shady lines #WhereIsBuhari

It’s another one of those global holidays. It’s May Day in England; Worker’s Day in Nigeria but “potato potato”. It’s the first of May and it’s the day set aside to celebrate every working person; many of whom are on holiday.

Lest I digress and start to talk about the irony of a day set aside for workers being the day they are expected not to work, let’s get right into the reason why we are here.

In the absence of President Buhari (a la #WhereIsBuhari) who seems to be the only Nigerian worker who’s doing what’s expected on May Day, – not working – Vice President Osinbajo has put up a message for all Nigerian Workers as is the tradition on days like this. Actually, the tradition is often a televised message from the Commander-In-Chief but you need to take what you get these days. We all know what happened when we asked for #Change

He says “Happy Worker’s Day” to all the “resilient who keep the wheels turning”. And as the “bedrock of this nation, he’s thankful “for all you do”.

Thanks, Prof! You’re far too kind.

But because kind is so two thousand and late, I have switched things up a bit:

To the resilient men & women who keep the wheels turning. HappyWorker’s Day! As for the rest of you who choose to be on bed rest in this nation, go and collect your #WorkersDay message from a certain missing President.

JOKING!
