The Nigerian Official Submission Committee (NOSC) has chosen and submitted Prince Daniel’s “Mai Martaba” for 2025’s Oscars’ Best International Feature Film.
“Mai Martaba” is an epic Hausa film that depicts a royal battle that takes place after an Emir declares the abdication of his throne to a woman.
Said to be one of the most expensive Kannywood films ever made, Nigeria hopes to make the top 15 shortlisted movies in the 2025 Oscars for the Best International Feature Film category.
Directed by Prince Daniel, “Mai Martaba” stars Adam A. Zango, Ghali Abdallah DZ, Auwalu Isma’il Marshal, Maryam Usman Shu’aibu, Muktar Aminu Haruna, and more.
“Mai Martaba is more than just a story; it’s a celebration of our culture, our struggles, and our triumphs as Nigerians. We’re bringing the voices and stories of our people to the global stage, sharing the heart of Nigeria with the world,” Prince Daniel wrote on his Instagram page.
“As we embark on this global campaign, I’m reaching out to you, our fellow Nigerians, near and far, for your support. Spread the word, share our story, and join us on this journey. Let’s make Nigeria’s voice heard loud and clear.”
